4 Mistakes Beginners Make👍
On the return, you need to stop standing back after you hit the ball. Follow it into the kitchen immediately.
You need to avoid slapping at the ball. Make sure you are always hitting topspin or slice.
On the serve you need to avoid being so tight. Stay loose and get that whip effect.
On your lobs or speed ups focus on the take back, keep it the same as a dink, don't make it too big ( a take back is when you bring the paddle backwards in preparation to hit the ball)

Serve and Stay!- Many times after people serve they rush forward into the court, only to have to rush backwards to hit the ball which most times ends up in a pop-up where the opponent can put it away. Serve and stay in the back instead of stepping in. So when the ball come back to you you can move forward with momentum to hit the ball.-vid
What do you Do On Your 3rd Shot?- img When you power the third shot back you tend to hit it into the net or out of bounds. In conclusion don't try to rip every single ball.-vid
Being Frantic at the Pickleball Line When Dinking- When you rush up to the pickleball line, stay there. Don't back up in between shots stay strong at the kitchen line. Stay one step off the line, keep on-balance, step over laterally if the ball is hit to your side, and step back to didn't get diagonally across the net. If you get a high ball while at the kitchen line that's an easy put away. You can slam it hard into their court but you have to stay at the kitchen line to do that.-vid
Swinging too Hard at a Ball that's not High Enough- If the ball is at head level or higher, you have full permission to take a big swing at it. However if the ball is at eye level or shoulder level, punch it instead so it won't go into the net or hit the tape. If you give the ball a punch instead of a big swing, you'll hit the ball less into the net and hurt your opponent who has to recover from the shot. Punch, don't swing.-vid
Being a "Know-it-all"- If you're at the court and you're around somebody who's clearly back to turn the volume up much better than you, been playing longer than you, ask them for one tip that you can do better. Or if you don't play with them, watch them on the court. Watch what their shot selection is. The tip is to get feedback, ask for feedback and you'll improve so much faster.-vid
Your Paddle Position- If you constantly keep your paddle down to your side in resposition, your opponent will most likely try to hit it at your face. Keep your paddle in the ready position in the center of the body so you just have to turn the paddle to block a ball. This way you're more efficient with your movements.-vid
Letting Out Balls Go Out- To gain an extra second or two to process if a ball is going to go out, look at your opponent's feet and body language which may indicate a big windup.-vid
Not Knowing the Rules!- When can you step inside the kitchen line? All the time if you wanted to you just have to make sure the ball bounces before you hit it.-vid
Not Having any Idea Where They're Dinking and Why- Aim for the left-side player's backhand or the middle to confuse the players.-vid
Swinging too Hard While Dinking- When you're around the kitchen line you want to move your paddle like your tossing bags in a cornhole game. You're not using a ton of wrist flick it's more using your shoulder and moving your arm. Also you can consider loosening your grip pressure to a three or four out of 10.-vid
